|Description:||Hart Energy is seeking a Research Analyst to join our consulting team in the Houston, Texas office. The appropriate candidate for the position is a knowledgeable, personable, detail oriented self-starter, who has strong communication and analytical skills. Experience with and knowledge of fuels, including biofuels and next-generation renewable fuels, fuel quality, including specifications and standards, production, and relevant policy issues are required. The successful candidate must be fully fluent and proficient in Spanish and Portuguese and should have at least 1 to 5 years appropriate experience. |
The position will be responsible for researching information, conducting analysis, maintaining databases and writing on biofuels and related fuels policy issues for the Latin America region (projected for 75% of time commitment. The position generally functions in support of Hart Energy's Global Biofuels Center (GBC) and to allied fuels services within the company. The position reports to the Director, Latin America.
Collect, analyze and disseminate data and other technical information on biofuels, and related fuels issues including fuel quality specifications, fiscal incentives, production, consumption, and other industry indicators.
Help to maintain the Latin America biofuels production capacity database as part of the GBC and other Hart Energy services.
Maintain the Latin America country database information for the GBC services.
Conduct information research, track, and document regional regulatory and relevant legislative changes for biofuels, including energy, transportation, and industry sectors.
Monitor regional fuels industry trends in trade literature to provide management with pertinent information concerning the development of policies in biofuels.
Analyze findings and prepare reports within assigned projects that illustrate data graphically and translate complex findings into comprehensible written text for clients, and targeted internal or external audiences.
Respond to information requests from clients and colleagues and clients as necessary.
As directed and assigned, assist and/or support in the global development of GBC, International Fuel Quality Center (IFQC), and other Hart Energy products.
Attend conferences to collect intelligence and meet contacts for developing products.
Minimum qualifications: Bachelors degree or equivalent, with specialization in engineering, energy/environmental policy or similar field. Masters degree would be a plus, but not essential.
Relevant experience of 1 to 5 years with knowledge of the biofuels, fuels and refining sector, automotive industry and transportation sector.
Skills in communication, oral and written in the English, Spanish and Portuguese languages, including conveying information effectively; writing and editing as appropriate for preparing staff analyses and reports for the services and clients.Ability to multitask in a high-energy environment - successful skills in self time management with changing priorities and deadlines.
Skills in Microsoft Office computer programs, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
